Worked with Todd on the design and scheduling and Tim came in to install the elevated deck with an enclosed, water proof, storage room below it. End result is a fantastic deck, incredibly well made. Tim’s attention to detail and pride of workmanship is very apparent and greatly appreciated. Premier also installed the “wrought iron” fence around the property a couple of weeks earlier which we are also extremely pleased with. Would highly recommend.
We had a fairly large backyard project in our new home. The quotation and design was completed using information of our new lot well prior to moving in. Within 3 weeks of moving in our fence was done, ahead of projected time and exactly on budget.
The crew from initial quotation to final construction were incredibly kind and courteous. Their workmanship was immaculate and the cleanliness was pristine. I am yet to find a nail after the build has been completed!
Stop searching and reach out to the team. These are the ones!
We were very happy with the customer service we received by Premier Fencing on our deck project. Everything from the initial quote to the final project build were delivered on time. I had a lot of questions throughout the process. James encouraged me to ask as many as I needed and responded in a timely manner. He was happy to price out different options for us and was not pushy at all. Tim installed the deck efficiently and did a quality job. They cleaned up after themselves when the project was done and did minimal damage to the yard. Everyone was very friendly and professional. We would definitely recommend working with them.
Had fence posts that were starting to lean over pretty bad. Dan provided a quick turn around on a quote to replace the posts.. Michael and Alex came out and did a good job replacing 8 – 6×6 posts. Would reccomend for sure!
Premier Fencing & Backyard Solutions just finished a deck install on our bungalow condo. We were more than impressed from the first meeting with Todd to the building of the deck. Todd kept us very well informed from beginning to end. Tim the deck builder was amazing! The quality of his work is top notch. Our neighbours have also commented on Tim’s workmanship and quality. It was a pleasure doing business with this company. Colin & Debbie
Our old deck was in need of replacement. After careful consideration and asking around I was directed to Premier Fencing. I wanted a company that had been around for a while. I soon discovered the roots of this company date back in the KW area over many family generations with many positive comments.
Our new deck rests on modern Helical Screw Piles that protrude well below the frost line, installed by Premier. We opted to use composite deck planks that do not require any finishing.
Since our deck doubles as a spring and summer outdoor living room we also opted to have a Pergola supplied and installed by Premier as well.
Our experience with Premier has been top notch. The materials, and workmanship were excellent!
A quality, professional company from the quote to the post crew to the fence hangers and the touch-ups. Add friendly office staff and I have no choice but to leave a 5 star review!! The fence is so nice that we may have to get them to update our deck in the future.
Had Premier Fencing replaced our fence that was damaged in a wind storm. My wife and I are very impressed with the professional job and quality of their work. Dan and Kimberly did excellent work. Would recommend this company if you need Fencing and decking done.
Like most home owners, we took plenty of time researching who we wanted to install our new fence and deck. In the end, we had four different companies quote the job and we are very happy that we chose Premier Fencing and Backyard Solutions. We had them take on our deck installation last summer, and have them lined up to replace our fence in the spring.
From the initial point of contact through the design and quoting process to completion, our sales representative Paul was a pleasure to deal with. He was communicative, professional, open to our input and timely with all his communications. He’s an excellent representative for the company, and our comfort level with Paul was certainly a factor in our decision. He listened to our design ideas and priorities and shared his input, ultimately helping us make the best decisions for our backyard.
Our installation was done by Ron, who undeniably takes pride in what he does. If Paul “talks the talk”, Ron is definitely the guy for the walk. As my wife put it “he’s very methodical. You can tell he’s been doing this for ever!”. Unlike some other “professionals” we’ve had in to work on the house, there were no expletives… no perplexed “what am I going to do now??” looks. No untimely disappearances for hours or days, with things half completed. No… Ron showed up, did his thing and left. I felt like Ron was working as if it was his backyard, not mine. Again, it’s evident that this isn’t his first rodeo, and his workmanship speaks for itself. Suffice to say, I’ll insist that RON to do the rest of the work we need done.
All in all, our experience with Premier Fencing and Backyard Solutions was fantastic and we are very happy we decided to hire them. They will be involved with any other outdoor construction projects we undertake.
Premier was awesome! We presented them with the challenge of building a fence to secure our pool and dog, but still have the look of a split rail farm fence. The finished product was beyond our expectations!!
Dustyn and Dan were great to work with – professional, competent and pleasant, taking pride in their work.
If you’re looking to build a new fence, Premier should be who you call first!
Amazing to deal with from start of project to the end. They were very easy to work with and were great to help me get the deck and fence I had envisioned. I’m so pleased with my new deck and fence. I added a gazebo as well from Premier Fence which was the perfect touch for my perfect deck. I highly recommend Premier Fencing ! You won’t be disappointed. I dealt with both the fence crew and the deck team. All staff working on my project were friendly and their work was outstanding.Thank you for making my backyard beautiful!
Very happy with the entire experience. Workmanship and quality was exactly as expected. Sales support was amazing (Thank you Todd).
We just recently had a second story deck installed with Premier Fencing & Backyard Solutions and are very happy with the final result. They were able to tie the design into our pre-existing lower deck very nicely. The cost was competitive with several other quotes we received and actually came in on the lower end. We would definitely recommend Premier in the future!
Josh and Brad came out in the middle of March to dig the holes for the posts while there was still snow on the ground. Nonetheless, they worked quickly and effectively.
Ron was our contractor and did an excellent job! He was very easy to engage with and checked in daily to see if we had any questions or concerns. He was very open to any minor adjustments we had and ensured everything was just the way we wanted it. His craftsmanship and attention to all the fine details was excellent and he took great care in making sure the workspace/yard was cleaned up of all debris before leaving. I was blown away at how quickly it all came together. From the filling of the posts to completion it took less than a week.
We can’t wait to enjoy this new space for many years to come!
Service technician Ron was customer friendly and did a great job. Happy with the new fence.
After numerous quotes, we selected Premier to replace the fence between us an our next door neighbour in the fall of 2020. We are all VERY happy with the outcome and would recommend Premier in a heartbeat. Every single person we work with was professional and friendly – Nic on the quote, Dan J, and Josh on the teardown and Ryan and Kenny on the construction and Terralyn in the back office. Keep up the great work!

What Type of Fence Works Best in Ontario
As your number one fencing provider in Southern Ontario, we can build you whatever type of fence you envision. Beginning at $13.00 per linear foot, our fences are competitively priced.
Chain Link Fences Provide Value
There are numerous advantages to chain link fences, most notably the easy maintenance and longevity that this type of product provides. While providing protection, this type of fencing is also one of the most economical that our fencing contractors can build.
Wrought Iron Fences are an Elegant Option
The elegant look of an ornamental iron fence is an easy way to add a stylish feel to your property. Premier Fencing provides various styles, heights and post-top mountings. Our locally manufactured wrought iron fencing is a heavy duty material that will survive our Canadian winters.
Wood Fencing is Always a Popular Choice
One of the most popular fencing materials for our customers is wood. When properly maintained, wood fences can last a long time and therefore provide great financial value for the customer. As quality fencing contractors who have built hundreds of wood fences, we have a variety of styles to show you. In addition, we could help you create a design that would perfectly suit your backyard. As your fencing contractor, we will help you build whatever fence works best for what you want!
Other Fencing Alternatives Provided by Premier Fencing

Premier Fencing can also help you with your commercial fencing needs. Ask us today about the effective fencing solutions we can provide to protect your business.
We Work With Fencing Styles That Fit Your Home
Every home is different, and so are the fencing solutions that make sense for your yard. Whether you’re after the timeless charm of cedar wood, the sleek look of aluminum, or the low-maintenance benefit of vinyl, we tailor each fence project to your home’s architecture and your lifestyle.
Our fence builders work with top brands like Westech and Master Halco, delivering fences that balance beauty, protection, and function. From wood fencing to chain link fencing, we design fences that resist rot, hold up through Ontario winters, and look sharp for years. Serving Cambridge and surrounding communities, we help homeowners find the perfect fence that truly fits their space, style, and specific needs.
How We Handle Commercial Fencing Projects
Our team understands that commercial fencing isn’t just about borders — it’s about security, appearance, and code compliance. We’ve worked with contractors and property managers across Cambridge Ontario to build fencing around warehouses, schools, and construction sites.
We install durable solutions like chain link, aluminum, and custom wood fencing for high-traffic zones. Projects are powered by pro-grade tools like STIHL augers and Hilti post drivers to ensure precision and speed. We also integrate gates, access controls, and pergolas when needed. Whether it’s 500 ft or 5,000 ft of fencing, our deck and fence contractors meet deadlines, budgets, and site safety requirements — every time.
Do You Need a Permit to Build a Fence
In Cambridge, a building permit isn’t always needed — but it depends on the fence type and height. Generally, fences up to 2.2 metres (7.2 ft) in the backyard don’t need permits. However, anything higher or involving a deck and fence combo, pool enclosures, or shared property lines usually requires city approval.
We help our homeowners and commercial clients cut through the red tape, filing necessary forms with the City of Cambridge. It’s one of those steps people often overlook — and it can delay your fence project if missed. We’ve helped previous customers navigate zoning bylaws, setbacks, and property line issues to get their fence installation started with no headaches.
Our Process for Fence Installation from Start to Finish
At Premier Fence, we take pride in delivering a smooth, professional experience from the first conversation to the final walkthrough. Here’s how our fence installation process works, step by step:
1. Material Selection and Design Planning
Choose from wood, vinyl, or chain link fencing with expert guidance on style, functionality, and what holds up best in Cambridge’s weather.
2. Precise Ground Preparation and Layout
Our team maps out post locations, marks property lines, and ensures underground utilities are clear before digging for a smooth, safe installation process.
3. Fence Installation Using Premium Equipment
Using Postmaster+ steel posts, laser levels, and weather-resistant fasteners, we install your fence with durability and accuracy in mind.
4. Final Inspection and Site Cleanup
After installation, we review the fence with you, handle any adjustments, and leave your yard spotless — ready for you to enjoy.
Can You Install a Fence Near Property Lines
Installing a fence near property lines can be a grey area — and a big source of neighbour disputes. In Cambridge, fences can be built directly on the line, but both parties must agree. If not, staying 6 inches inside your own yard is the safest move.
We help clients identify exact boundaries with land surveys or municipal maps before we dig. We also recommend fencing solutions that visually blend while clearly defining ownership. For shared fences, we provide written agreements between neighbours to avoid future confusion. Whether it’s a chain link divider or cedar wood privacy panels, our team ensures your fence project keeps the peace.
How Weather Impacts Fence Materials in Cambridge
Ontario’s four-season weather is no joke. Your fence needs to handle deep frost, wind gusts up to 90 km/h, and humid summers that can warp wood fencing if not built right.
Here’s how different materials perform in Cambridge’s weather:
| Fence Material | Weather Resistance | Lifespan | Maintenance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cedar Wood | Moderate | 15–20 yrs | Needs staining |
| Vinyl | High | 20–30 yrs | Low maintenance |
| Chain Link | High | 15–25 yrs | Minimal upkeep |
| Aluminum | Very High | 30+ yrs | Rust-free, durable |
Our team uses pressure-treated posts and concrete footings that extend below the frost line — helping your fence resist rot, shift, or sag. It’s this attention to detail that ensures your installation holds up season after season.
Fence Repair or Replace What’s Right for You
Not every damaged fence needs to be ripped out and rebuilt. We evaluate issues like cracked posts, leaning panels, and broken gates to see if a fence repair will do the trick. On average, repairs cost $150–$400, compared to $2,500–$5,500 for full fence installation.
We’ve helped dozens of previous customers save money by fixing sections of cedar wood, chain link, and wood fencing — matching the materials seamlessly. But when rot spreads or shifting ground compromises structure, it may be time to bring in our fence builders for a new start. Either way, we give honest advice based on safety, cost, and longevity.
How Much Does Fence Cambridge Installation Cost
The cost of fence installation in Cambridge Ontario typically ranges from $45 to $85 per linear foot, depending on materials, layout, and site conditions. Whether you’re after classic wood, modern aluminum, or something in between, our fence installers help you choose the right option for your yard and budget.
At Premier Fence, we offer fair pricing, no hidden fees, and a free quote for every project. From deck builders to full fence and deck packages, we deliver excellent craftsmanship that fits your space and specific needs. Serving Cambridge and nearby areas, we take pride in building fences that are secure, durable, and truly feel like the perfect fence for your home.
